The Day My Dad Died (and what I learned)

When I was 24, I lost my dad to alcoholism.

I don’t talk about it much, if ever, what it was like the last few years of his life.

I tried everything I could to help him.

But I couldn’t.

I often think about whether I could have helped if I had the skills I have now…

Over $1M invested in self education

38 masterminds, countless events, dozens and dozens of mentors, hundreds of courses and books.

10,000 hours of coaching, speaking, writing, masterminds and consulting.

Not to mention becoming a master practitioner of NLP and licensed hypnotherapist.

The countless people I know who have successfully navigated rehab and recovery, all a phone call away.

All of that would have made it a walk in the park to help my dad.

And he might still be alive today if I had the skills I have now, then.

But he isn’t.

He died lonely and alone on Mother’s day 10 years ago.

I got the phone call while I was on the train that he had been found dead.

I rushed to the house but there was nothing that could be done.

As they wheeled him out on a stretcher under a white sheet…

…I sobbed inconsolably on the lawn while my Aunt held me.

And I couldn’t help but think… what if I knew then what I know now?

Could I have helped? Of course.

I did the best I could with the skills and tools I had THEN.

My best is better now.

But if it wasn’t for that event, the events that led up to it, and the events that followed, I might never have gone down the rabbit hole into learning so much.

Becoming self educated.

Building several businesses from nothing to millions.

And impacting countless people around the world.

It would have never happened.

I like to think life happens for a reason.

And if you’re reading this, there’s a reason you’re here too.

Maybe there’s someone in your life that needs your help.

Needs you to step up and be a leader, before it’s too late.

Maybe you want to set an example and help people in your community rise up.

Someone needs to know what you already know.

Or needs you to explore your passion and bring experts together to help them learn while you BECOME the expert yourself.

Maybe you follow an expert that you would love to learn more from, partner with, and profit.

It doesn’t have to be life and death… but the world is hurting.

The world needs leaders now more than ever before.

I would not be the man I am today without the influence of Dean Graziosi and Tony Robbins.

Full stop.

It would never have been possible if they didn’t stand up, decades ago, and answer a simple question with a resounding YES.

Will you LEAD them?

It’s your time now.

What’s your answer?

Feel free to leave a comment with your why.

I read every one.

I love you, thank you.
